THE POWER OF WISE ADVICE

Someone gave me words of wisdom when I shared about the grief of the loss of my parents. She said you should not forget about them, but not let the loss overwhelm you. This really helped me. If she had said something like you are stuck in past, it would not have helped me heal through this grief, but her words actually healed me and helped me overcome this grief. Such is the power of wise advice. You never know how sound advice might help someone reach a breakthrough.

 Just yesterday, whilst travelling, it suddenly reminded me of my golden childhood days, when we would travel in our own car. As I noticed the open fields while travelling, and later the sunset and stars, including the bazaar by the temple entrance, it reminded me of childhood days, and I immediately overcame the grief of missing my parents by remembering her advice just as the memories hit.

For the person who has been given advice, remember to utilise it at least once and see if it works for you or not. You just need to give it one chance. Such advice is powerful, especially if it is coming from someone who understands you. Never underestimate the power of wise words. I have given her advice too, and I hope we give each other sound advice in future as well. Come to think about it, this content is made due to that advice as well. Exchange of wisdom between people, especially with two people who understand each other, can be profoundly healing.
