The Fragrant Flower Booms With Dignity is a pleasant romantic storyline that involves to innocent and kind people blossoming in love with each other. Rintaro Tsumugi is a tough boy who has a select few friends with whom he gets along. He works at his family's cake shop after school and seems to be shy and reserved personality. When he meets Kaoruko Waguri, who is a kind and sweet girl, he learns more about himself. She is the catalyst that triggers his inner growth. Her affection for him surprises him as he finds it hard that a girl would like him. Slowly but surely he opens up to her and finally they both bond together to the point that they eventually admit their feelings for each other by the end. Both the main leads are studying in schools right next to each other. Both are shy and through Kaoruko, Rintaro develops self confidence and maturity. The supporting cast is very good. Rintaro's friends are a bunch of good fellows who too becomes friend with Kaoruko and her friend Satsuki Nabata. Satsuki is very proitective of her friend Kaoruko but she eventually values her friend's happiness over her own. While Satsuki does try to stop Rintaro from meeting her friend, Rintaro refuses her request. Ultimately Satsuki opens up to Rintaor and friends. Although the anime hints a potential interest between her and one of Rintaro's friend Saku Natsusawa, the story focuses mainly on the main two leads. Rintaro eventually learns to make his first cake with his father to give it to Kaoruko on her birthday. That was one of the key points in his life for self development and growth. The anime does not feature any action, as it is heavily focused on romance between the two main leads, there are few encounters where one would see bits of tiny action.Ayato Yorita stands out with Saku in terms of support cast to me. Rintaro learns that someone can love her and appreciate his nature. Rintaro does hesitate in the beginning but quiickly goes after love once he realizes that she likes him too. The main leads steadily opens up with each other, a nice anime suitable for romance genre lovers.
